This comprehensive guide provides all the information you need to embark on this incredible adventure, from the legendary tales behind the peaks to a detailed day-by-day itinerary.

The Legend of the Five Peaks
The name "Panchachuli" translates to "five hearths" or "five cooking stoves." According to the epic Mahabharata, it was here that the five Pandava brothers, along with their wife Draupadi, cooked their last meal before ascending to the heavens. Each of the five peaks is named after one of the Pandavas: Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva. This deep mythological connection lends a profound spiritual aura to the entire trek, making it not just a physical challenge but also a journey into India's ancient past.
